BlinkFi Privacy Policy
LAST UPDATED OCTOBER 17, 2026
ddz.dev LLC ("we", "us") built BlinkFi, an iOS app that reads WiFi credentials from printed text and connects you with one tap. This page explains what BlinkFi does with information when you use it. Questions go to support@ddz.dev.
The short version
- Scanning and text recognition happen on your device. Photos, network names, passwords and recognized text are never sent to us or to anyone else.
- BlinkFi collects no data. There are no analytics, no tracking, no ads and no accounts.
What stays on your device
Camera and photos
BlinkFi uses your camera and photo library only to read WiFi credentials from an image. Image processing and text recognition run entirely on your device. No image is uploaded, transmitted or stored on any server.
WiFi credentials
Network names (SSIDs) and passwords you scan are stored only on your device: passwords in Apple's Keychain (encrypted) and network history in the app's local database. We never have access to your WiFi credentials.
On-device Apple Intelligence
BlinkFi may use Apple Intelligence, through Apple's Foundation Models framework, to improve text recognition. This needs an iPhone 15 Pro or later on iOS 26 or later, with Apple Intelligence turned on; on other devices BlinkFi uses the standard on-device recognizer only. This runs entirely on your device. No data is sent to Apple or to any third party for this processing.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive or store any payment information.
No analytics or tracking
BlinkFi does not send usage analytics or any other data to us or to third parties, and it does not track you across apps or websites. If a future version offers optional analytics, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the app will ask for your permission before sending anything.
Data storage
- WiFi passwords: Apple Keychain, on-device only
- Network history: local app database, on-device only
- Preferences: app preferences, on-device only
Data sharing
We do not sell, trade or transfer your information to third parties.
Data deletion
You can delete any saved network, including its password, from History in the app. Deleting the app removes its network history and preferences; passwords are kept in Apple's Keychain, which iOS may preserve across a reinstall, so delete networks from History first if you want them gone for good.
Children's privacy
BlinkFi does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
